What's the difference between dentures and partial dentures?
Dentures and partial dentures in Clearwater are custom, removable appliances that replace missing teeth and gum tissue. Full dentures replace an entire upper or lower arch, while partials fill gaps when some healthy natural teeth remain. At Boulevard Dental in Clearwater, FL, Dr. Jason Kopakin offers conventional, immediate and implant-supported options.

Comfortable, natural-looking tooth replacement
Losing teeth — gradually or all at once — changes how you eat, how you speak and often how you feel about yourself. The good news is that modern dentures are more comfortable, more natural-looking and better fitting than ever.
Our dentures and partial dentures in Clearwater are custom-crafted to fit the unique contours of your mouth. Whether you're missing several teeth or a full arch, we'll design a solution that fits well, looks natural and holds up to everyday life.

Tooth shape, size and shade are chosen to complement your facial features and skin tone.
Support through adjustment
Follow-up adjustments are a normal part of the process, and we're with you every step.
02Treatments
Denture options for every situation
The right choice depends on how many teeth you're missing, the health of your remaining teeth and your goals.
- 01
Full dentures
Replace an entire upper or lower arch — or both — when all or nearly all teeth are missing or need to be removed. They rest on the gums and stay in place through natural suction and the contours of your mouth.
- 02
Partial dentures
Fill gaps left by multiple missing teeth while using your remaining natural teeth for support — and keep those teeth from drifting into empty spaces.
- 03
Immediate dentures
Placed the same day as extractions so you're never without teeth, with more follow-up adjustments as your gums heal.
- 04
Implant-supported options
Dentures anchored by dental implants for added stability in a wide range of tooth loss situations.
03Our approach
The denture process at Boulevard Dental
Custom dentures take several carefully managed appointments to achieve the best possible fit and result.
- 01
Consultation and examination
Dr. Kopakin reviews your remaining teeth, gums and jawbone with X-rays, discusses your goals and builds a personalized treatment plan.
- 02
Extractions, if needed
Any teeth that need to be removed are extracted in our office. Depending on your denture type, impressions may be taken before or after.
- 03
Impressions and measurements
Precise impressions capture the contours of your gums and jaw, and measurements of your bite and facial proportions help restore your face's natural shape.
- 04
Try-in appointment
A wax model lets you evaluate the fit, shape and appearance. Changes can be made at this stage at no additional cost or delay.
- 05
Final placement and adjustments
We seat your denture, check the fit and bite and make chairside adjustments. A few follow-up tweaks in the weeks ahead are normal and expected.

04Dentures & Partial Dentures
Adjusting to your new dentures
A short adjustment period is completely normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong with your dentures. Most patients adapt fully within four to eight weeks — and wearing your dentures consistently during waking hours speeds things up. Our team is available throughout if anything feels uncomfortable.
- Increased saliva as your mouth gets used to the appliance
- Minor sore spots, which we can relieve with simple adjustments
- Some difficulty with certain foods — start soft and work up gradually
- A brief change in speech while your tongue and lips adapt
New patients & emergency appointments are welcome.
05Questions, answered
Dentures & Partial Dentures FAQs
Still have questions? Call our Clearwater office at(727) 799-4897.
01How long does it take to get dentures?
It depends on the type and whether extractions are needed. Conventional full dentures typically take two to three months from extractions to final placement to allow full healing. Immediate dentures are placed the same day as extractions but need more follow-up adjustments. Partials generally take three to six weeks from impressions to delivery.
02Will my dentures look natural?
Yes. Our dentures and partial dentures in Clearwater are designed to closely resemble natural teeth and gums, with tooth shape, size and shade selected to complement your features. Many patients are surprised by how much their dentures improve their overall appearance.
03Will I be able to eat normally?
Most patients enjoy a wide variety of foods with well-fitting dentures, though very hard, sticky or tough foods may take some practice. Start with softer foods and add more challenging textures as you adjust. If your dentures shift while eating, a simple adjustment or reline may help.
04Can my dentures be repaired if they break?
In many cases, yes. Cracked or broken dentures can often be repaired professionally. Avoid at-home fixes with over-the-counter adhesives, which can permanently damage the appliance and its fit — call our office and we'll arrange a prompt repair whenever possible.
05Can I sleep with my dentures in?
It's generally recommended to remove them at night so your gums can rest. Soaking them overnight also helps keep them clean and maintain their shape. Dr. Kopakin will give you guidance specific to your situation.
06How do I keep my dentures from slipping?
A well-fitting denture should stay comfortably in place. Slipping usually means the fit has changed and a reline or adjustment is needed. Adhesive can add stability but shouldn't replace a proper fit — call us if your dentures are consistently loose.
07Do I still need dental visits with full dentures?
Absolutely. We examine your gums, jawbone and soft tissues — including an oral cancer screening — and check the fit of your dentures. We recommend full denture wearers visit at least once a year.
08Does insurance cover dentures and partial dentures in Clearwater?
Most plans partially cover dentures as a major restorative procedure, subject to annual maximums, waiting periods and co-pays. We verify your benefits and review estimated costs before treatment. Uninsured patients save 20% on most procedures with our membership plan, and financing is available.

Why patients trust their dentist in Clearwater
“I recently switched to Boulevard Dental and Dr. Kopakin. I have to say I was very pleased with the experience. The office space is very relaxing and the staff capable and friendly. Dr. Kopakin reassured me that a filling I was told was needed did, in fact, not need attention. It's very important to feel one's medical provider is competent and trustworthy. Dr. Kopakin fits that profile.”
Bill R.Verified patient “I've been going to Boulevard Dental for over 5 years, and I can honestly say it's the best dental care I've ever received. My dental hygienist is absolutely amazing—she's so gentle and calming during cleanings, which makes the whole experience stress-free. The dentist is fair and trustworthy; he only recommends what truly needs to be done and never pushes unnecessary procedures. Finding a dentist you can trust is not easy, and I'm so grateful to have found this place. Highly recommend!”
