At a glance

What is Invisalign and who is it for?

Invisalign in Clearwater is orthodontic treatment that uses a series of custom, removable clear aligners to gradually move teeth into place — correcting crowding, gaps and many bite problems without metal braces. It suits most teens and adults with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns. Invisalign-trained Dr. Jason Kopakin offers it at Boulevard Dental in Clearwater, FL.

01Invisalign

Straighter teeth without the metal

A well-aligned smile is about more than looks. Straight teeth are easier to clean, less prone to uneven wear and place less stress on your jaw joints. Yet many people put off orthodontics because of how braces look and feel.

With Invisalign at our Clearwater office, you can address anything from mild crowding to more complex bite issues — discreetly. Dr. Kopakin evaluates your smile and builds a customized plan that delivers real results, often without anyone noticing you're in treatment.

The Invisalign system has been used to treat more than 14 million patients worldwide, making it one of the most thoroughly researched clear aligner systems available.

  • Fewer, shorter visits

Progress checks every six to eight weeks, usually just 20 to 30 minutes.

02Treatments

What Invisalign can treat

Invisalign addresses many of the most common orthodontic concerns in both teens and adults.

  • 01

    Crowded teeth

Gradually creates space and aligns overlapping or rotated teeth, often without extractions — making them easier to keep clean.

  • 02

    Gapped teeth

Closes a single gap between the front teeth or multiple spaces throughout the arch for a more uniform smile.

  • 03

    Overbite

Corrects mild to moderate overbites that can wear down lower teeth and stress the jaw joints.

  • 04

    Underbite

Addresses mild to moderate underbites, improving both function and facial symmetry.

  • 05

    Crossbite

Moves teeth that sit inside the lower teeth into their proper positions, reducing uneven wear and gum recession.

  • 06

    Open bite

Closes open bites in appropriate cases so your upper and lower teeth meet properly when biting.

03Our approach

Your Invisalign journey, step by step

Getting started with Invisalign at Boulevard Dental is straightforward, from your first visit to your final smile.

  1. 01

    Consultation & evaluation

Dr. Kopakin reviews your teeth, bite and oral health with X-rays and photos, then discusses your goals and timeline.

  2. 02

    Digital smile planning

Precise 3D scans are used to map every tooth movement stage by stage and preview your projected result.

  3. 03

    Aligner delivery

Your custom aligners arrive with a full walkthrough. Wear them 20 to 22 hours a day and switch to a new set every one to two weeks.

  4. 04

    Progress appointments

Brief visits every six to eight weeks confirm your teeth are tracking and provide your next aligners. Refinement aligners, if needed, fine-tune the finish.

  5. 05

    Retention

A custom retainer, typically worn nightly long term, keeps your teeth from drifting back and protects your new smile.

04Invisalign

Invisalign for teens

Invisalign Teen is designed with younger patients in mind. Compliance indicators — small blue dots that fade with wear — help parents and providers confirm aligners are being worn as directed, and the system accounts for teeth that may still be erupting.

For teens who are self-conscious about braces or lead active social and athletic lives, it's an excellent alternative. We'll evaluate whether Invisalign Teen fits your teenager's dental development and alignment needs.

05Invisalign

Insurance and membership savings

Many dental plans with orthodontic benefits apply them to Invisalign just as they would to braces, though coverage varies widely. Our team verifies your orthodontic benefits before treatment so you know your estimated out-of-pocket costs. Uninsured patients can save 20% on most procedures with the Boulevard Dental Membership Plan, and flexible financing is available.

New patients & emergency appointments are welcome.

06Questions, answered

Invisalign FAQs

Still have questions? Call our Clearwater office at(727) 799-4897.

01Am I a candidate for Invisalign in Clearwater?

Most teens and adults with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns are good candidates. At a consultation in our Clearwater office, Dr. Kopakin will evaluate your teeth, bite and oral health and tell you honestly whether Invisalign can achieve your goals.

02How many hours a day do I wear my aligners?

Aligners must be worn 20 to 22 hours a day, removed only for eating, drinking anything other than water, brushing and flossing. Wearing them less than recommended is the most common cause of delayed progress.

03Does Invisalign hurt?

Invisalign is generally much more comfortable than braces. Mild pressure or soreness for a day or two after switching aligners is normal and means they're working. Over-the-counter pain relievers can help if needed.

04Can I eat and drink with my aligners in?

Remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything but plain water. Food can damage or warp them and colored drinks can stain them. Brush before putting them back in to avoid trapping bacteria against your teeth.

05Will Invisalign affect my speech?

Some patients notice a slight, temporary lisp during the first few days with a new set. It resolves quickly as your tongue adapts.

06What if I lose or damage an aligner?

Call our office as soon as possible. Depending on where you are in treatment, Dr. Kopakin may have you move to the next aligner, go back to the previous one or order a replacement. Always store aligners in their case — never in a napkin.

07Can Invisalign fix my bite as well as straighten my teeth?

Yes. Invisalign can address overbites, underbites, crossbites and open bites as well as crowding and spacing. More severe bite issues may need a combined approach, and Dr. Kopakin will give you a clear recommendation.

08Do I need a retainer after Invisalign in Clearwater?

Yes. Retention is essential after any orthodontic treatment. After your Invisalign treatment in Clearwater, you'll receive a custom retainer, typically worn nightly on an ongoing basis, to keep your teeth from shifting back.
